Interesting follow-up to the recent discussion on saving steamers from Cuba was Heull Hauser's program Sunday, 7/23/00 on PBS. He drove out to a sugar mill and lo and behold there was #1307 built in Philadelphia in 1913. The crew said she was easy to maintain, and with a couple of toots chuffed off to work

I'll bet they wouldn't find it easier to maintain than a diesel!! I hope some groups or museums are working on something involving a diesel trade. Through a third party, of course. It sure would be great to see some of these very significant American built locomotive returned to home.
