Post subject:  Unique 1901 Wood President's Car For Sale

My family owns a rare and we think unique 1901 wood Presidential railroad car on tracks near Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. This car was built for the president of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railroad by the Pullman Co. It has a beautiful mahagony interior. The "Illinois" has a great history, including President Theodore Roosevelt riding the car at one time. The chair that he sat in is still in the car. Documentation for the car, pictures of its original condition, engineering drawings, etc. are all available. There is a small, new vacation home consisting of a kitchenette, bathroom and sunroom attached. This a year round home with heat and central air. We have a patio and asphalt drive. The railroad car was partially rennovated by the EJ&E in the 1950's, but much of the car remains intact from its original condition. It has been under a "carport" roof system from the time it was moved to Wisconsin Dells, so it has been well preserved. We would like to sell the car, home, and real estate as one unit, but will consider selling the car only. Our asking price for the whole package is $300,000. If interested, contact Dick Brockman at brockman@mhtc.net
