Post subject:  Caboose Rides in Hummelstown PA

The M&H Railroad is running caboose rides in Hummelstown PA in their ex-CNJ Northeast style caboose Friday evenings September 5 and September 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The rides run as demand warrant and take about 20 minutes. The cost is $4.00 adult and $2.00 child. The power is 65-ton M&H Centercab #1 recently repainted into an attractive red, white, and blue paint scheme to honor her Army service. Tickets can be purchased from the recently opened gift shop at Main and Duke Streets in Hummelstown next to the railroad. The ride covers all Hummelstown trackage from the NS to US Rte 322. This is an inexpensive way to acquire rare mileage. New Year's Eve and Dinner trains also cover this trackage a few times a year leaving from Middletown but cost much more! The new gift shop also features railroad books and magazines. The railroad may increase operations at this end of the line if the rides and gift shop sales are successful.
