Post subject:  Wanted: 85lb index plate for Geismar Stumec PR-8 rail drill

The Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum is looking for an index plate for 85lb/90lb. rail for a Geismar Stumec PR-8 gas powered rail drill. This plate sets the drill's position on the web of the rail. From documentation we have seen, an 85lb plate is?/was available which should work to drill our 80lb Dudley and 90lb. rail. The drill was donated with a 115lb plate installed which incorrectly sets the drill height on the 90lb rail resulting in the museum's track gang reverting back to our "armstrong", i.e. volunteer powered, hand crank rail drill.

As a non-profit, we would prefer a donation, but will consider purchase as well. We would also consider being given just the dimensions of an existing 85lb. plate so we could machine our own.

Please let us know if you can help us. We would also welcome a copy of a manual for this drill as well. Contact info available here or a PM on this board. Thanks!

Regards,
Chris Hauf
