The M&H RR will once again offer caboose rides over their Hummelstown trackage using M&H GE 65-ton Engine #1 and their CNJ caboose from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, Dec. 20, and Dec. 27. The trains will leave from the new M&H gift shop at 401 W. Main Street in Hummelstown. These trains typically cover the ex-Reading trackage from the Yard Limit along Norfolk Southern to the edge of US Rte. 322. The ride takes about 20 minutes and the price on past rides was $4 for adults and $2 for children. The trains leave as demand warrants so just show up and ride! This is a good way to get some rare milage, daylight photos, or introduce the little ones to trains at a reasonable price. The gift shop now also stocks railroad books and train magazines. The time of the rides is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. according to an ad in the local paper. |
