Director of Planning and Special Services

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, the regional transit authority and the largest public transit provider in the bi-state Kansas City metro area is seeking a Director of Planning and Special Services. 
This executive position is responsible for supervising planning and special program staff, directing the regional transit authority’s service planning activities, overseeing short-range transit planning, and providing planning and operational guidance for transit planning and corridor studies. 
The successful candidate must have a BA/BS degree in Transportation, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, Engineering or a related field and five years experience in urban transportation or transit planning along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of federal, state, and local government agencies and requirements and the ability to work with a diverse customer base.
