Post subject:  MA & PA RR Preservation Society/Docent Training April 18

Training session for docents will take place April 18 10:00 AM —3:00 PM at Muddy Creek Forks, PA. Docent manuals or updates and additional materials will be provided for all participants.

Morning sessions will cover subjects of interest for all docents and train operators: interacting with the public, interpretive roles at Muddy Creek Forks, the history of the Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad, Muddy Creek Forks and its relationship to the railroad, period costume, operating policies and procedures and safety.

In the afternoon, we will divide into two groups for sessions focusing more specifically on our various docent roles. Train operators are welcome in either group. Please be sure to indicate on your registration which session you plan to attend. Lana Blevins and Jean Sansonetti will lead a group for store clerks, station agents, and interpreters in our upstairs display area. Craig Sansonetti will take the other group to the 1890s vintage roller mill recently acquired by the society and the rolling mill process. We need a few additional docents trained to work in the mill for this summer.

Bring your calendar. Attendees at Docent Day will have the first choice to sign up for dates and docent roles on this summer's schedule.

Free lunch provided to all prospective docents. To register, contact:
