Post subject:  WANTED wood 4 wheel passenger trucks / parts

Hi to all

We would be interested to learn of any parts for 1887 era 4 wheel Pullman passenger car trucks, that anyone may know of. Obviously complete truck or trucks would be great (condition irrelevant) parts for patterns would be good, particularly springs and coil springs, axle box castings and guides etc and brake gear.
Thanks

Not a direct answer to your search, but could you find the information to fabricate the parts you need in something like on of the old Car Builders' Cyclopedias?

Can you give more information about the specific car that it is for? At the IRM Pullman Library, we have a number of drawings for 1890's wood and iron 4-wheel trucks. Be aware that for museum operation, they may not meet modern reliability and safety standards without redesign. Also, spring design particularly in later years was custom depending on the weight of the car. Good luck in your searches.
