With all due respect, these are worth no more than $50 each. $250 each seems a bit optimistic.

That may be, but we have also factored in shipping in case we have to mail them somewhere.

Howard is right. The CNR lanterns are a dime a dozen. You can pick one up in any antique store, train show or Ebay for $50 - $70. I have at least 3 personally I've picked up in various places pretty cheap. If they were from a fallen flag railroad from the turn of the century, I'm sure you would get more.
You mentioned shipping cost. $200 for shipping on each lantern?????!!!

The above posters are correct the second one is worth a high of about $50. The first one has basically had its value destroyed by a common and idiotic practice of converting it to operate on a light bulb I have seen numerous other potentially valuable lanterns destroyed in this way. It has value only as a parts source

Thanks, Santafeboy, for the explanation. We weren't sure about how much they were worth, so took a wild guess based upon other items we have seen. Obviously we were wrong!

We are revising the price downward to reflect the reduced value - will sell both lanterns for $100 plus postage.

Elizabeth
