Post subject:  Lackawanna “Boontan Line” Coach #3966

Built in 1915 as an open vestibule, open window commuter coach for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad and operated on the "Boonton Line" out of Boonton, NJ. Converted by the DL&W into a training car in the 1930's. Retired by the DL&W and used as a yard office in Portland, PA until sold into private ownership. The car is in very original condition but is missing most of the walk over seats and a small office was built into one end. To convert back into a coach would pretty easy since from what we are told the window openings were just covered over and the sashes are still in place. Body & roof are in fair condition, original trucks, friction bearings, original DC electrical system. This is a very RARE car, you can have the look of a circa 1900s car without the issues of maintaining a wood carbody, the open vestibules are original to the cars construction and sister cars are current operating on several vary popular tourist railroads in the U.S. Please visit our site for more photos and info:
