I wish to purchase a railroad smoking/drink stand of the type often used in lounge cars. There were several variations in design, but the one I want generally would look like the one pictured below. Please contact me with details if you have one to sell.

David -

Tsk. Tsk. Smoking and Drinking are both bad for you. Hope you are doing those in moderation!

No smoking will be taking place near one of these, I've always wanted to use it as a glorified side table, etc. for the home office.

Well, in that case David, I hope you are successful in finding one.

Try a Google search for Climax Cocktail Smoker.

That is the actual product name. They show up on eBay now and then as well as at various auctions.

Someone does make both of the rings for the drink holder.

These items routinely show up at the Gaithersburg Railroadiana Show held the first weekend of November - about 5-6 weeks from now - and typically listed for a lot, lot less than the one referenced on discover live steam. I'd guess they may be found at other railroadiana shows as well.

Should you have questions or need additional information re: Gaithersburg, kindly PM me. This will be our 27th year there - we look forward to 3-days of railroadiana every year!

eBay had an auction end today for an exact match to this one but it went unsold.

Listed as a buy it now for over $1200, it'll probably go unsold for quite a while.

I noticed that the two listed for sale don't have the holes in them for the drinks. That wouldn't be a problem in a home setting, and in fact might be an advantage since it can accommodate all kinds of drinks.

Does anyone know which versions were more common? The "cup holder" style, or the ones without the holes? I seem to recall seeing more with the holes in them, but that's purely a vague recollection.

There would have been a seperate ring with the drink holes that sits above the solid tray.

This thread is about two years old. Has anybody thought to ask David if he still needs one before offering more to him as possibilities?
