Post subject:  Grand Canyon Railway needs Locomotive Mechanics

Grand Canyon Railway has two immediate openings in the Locomotive Department. They are listed as 'Train Mechanic II', which is a mid level position between apprentice and expert. A basic mechanical experience is required, but specific locomotive experience is not. Diesel experience is a plus. If you know the difference between a pipe wrench, cresent wrench and monkey wrench, can find the wrench size bigger than 5/8" and smaller than 3/4", can read a caliper and micrometer, and can follow a set of written instructions to dissassemble and reassemble an appliance, you will qualify.

Although the majority of time will be spent working on diesel locomotives, this position is directly involved in the maintenance and operation of steam locomotives.

Applicants must come to Williams, Az. for an interview. Although preliminary interviews can be done over the phone on a conference call, a property visit is required before a job offer will be extended.
