Post subject:  Gardner-Denver AAB Air Compressor: wanted

Valley Railroad needs a compressor as described above to replace one which suffered a catastrophic failure on our c.1940 GE 80 ton locomotive No.0901.
This compressor is 31" high, 31" long (over the sheave) and 14" wide.
We could use a complete unit or just the body.
We would replace it with a more standard unit, but the space it fits into is barely larger than the compressor itself.
I suppose we could mount a more standard compressor out on the running board, but we would like to keep this historic unit as original as possible.
We have already contacted Birmingham Rail & Locomotive, Western Star and George Slicott without success.
Thanks in advance! valley.railroad@snet.net 860-767-2571 (Dave or Wayne).
