Good afternoon

The Western Railway Museum has available the remains of a Sacramento St. Cable car # 22.

It is now available to good home. If there are no takers in a matter of time, it will be disposed of.

Please contact me off line for details.

Thank you,

Karl Johnson
Railway Manager
Western Railway Museum

I have one question: what in the heck happened to it?

Hi

To answer a couple questions:

Car # 22, once it left San Francisco, and prior to it's life at the Western Railway Museum, was a flower stand in Burlingame, Ca. Imagine if you will, all those nice buckets of beautiful flowers, waiting to go to nice home, strategically placed on the seats and other areas of the car, and in the process, getting the seats, floor, etc. wet every day. Then, once the car was wet enough, off to the railway museum !

Car # 19 still exists today, stored at Washington and Mason barn in S.F., so measurements could be taken....

Here is a photo take some time in the 1970's of the car at the museum (Steve Graves photo).

Cheers,

Karl Johnson
