For Sale: Fairmont model A-6-F motor gang car. Ford six cylinder gasoline engine (F-150 truck engine), manual transmission, manual brakes. Two wheel drive with reversing rear-end. Will go full speed in either direction without turning. Cast steel 20 inch wheels. Extra long frame with torch racks on front and room for welding machine/toolbox on the rear. Frame is 20 feet long, I think and was ordered from Fairmont this way as car was used in a railyard by a repair crew.Full cab with two sliding doors on side. Two padded bucket seats, plus room for six on the engine cover. Light group. Ex- Bessemer & lake Erie Railroad R-209. Complete, in good mechanical shape, needs floor replaced and cab painted. Was running when parked, has not run in several years. A clean fuel line/carburetor and a battery should be all it needs to run. Wheels and brakes in excellent shape. We used this car on trackwork for many years and it was very reliable and a good puller. Also have three heavy-duty pushcars for sale. Two are "new" one is used but has good paint. All in excellent shape and ready for immediate use. Fairmont wheel sets with roller bearings and pressed steel wheels. Al wheels are new or very close to it. PM me for details/photos. |
