Does anyone out there have a source for caboose cushions/mattresses? I'm interested in the type with heavy synthetic (naugahyde?) covering.

Thanks.

Possibly to provide procurement for posterior padding, perchance? ;-)

If you have an original, that can be used as an example. Or go by dimensions. I'd use 3" dense furniture foam and have vinyl covers made. Any furniture or automotive upholstery shop should be able to duplicate them since they're pretty basic - something like three pieces of fabric and a zipper or other closure. Piping optional. Probably add some breather holes so the air can escape when you sit on it. That would get you an exact fit. The foam is probably the most expensive part though I haven't priced heavy vinyl in years.

If you're having them made, Naugahyde is still around. https://www.naugahyde.com/catalog/?keyw ... h=#results
I've seen cushions in black, All American Forest and something like Nauga Soft Laurel in cabeese.

According to Mr. Pincus, Naugahyde is no longer available ever since the Naugas were hunted to extinction.
