Post subject:  Wanted: EMD SDP45 Parts

A long range goal is to restore the EL 3639 / Conrail 6670 to operating condition. It is missing quite a few parts which will have to be replaced over time. Our first priority of course is to get the 26L brake system operational again and to get the locomotive shipped from Roanoke. The second priority is to get the prime mover operational again, then the electrical generating systems and finally combos and traction motors. However, while NS continues to hold it in their Shaffers Crossing yard (PSR means NO CREWS which means NO MOVING ANYTHING) about all I can do is start gathering up some of the parts that I will need for the restoration.

There is no deadline for restoration. This is a project that we will continue to work on as time and money allows. We just plan to keep making progress in the right direction.

Here is a very basic list of components that I am looking for. Yes I know places such as LTEX and Powerrail has all of this stuff. I'm looking for more economical alternatives if possible.

To get the EMD 20-645E3 prime mover functioning again:
Lube Oil Cooler
(40) valve bridges
(8) rocker arm assemblies
8358093 load regulator (vane type with face plate rheostat)

Air and electrical systems:
WBO air compressor 3 cylinder, water cooled
AR10B2-D14 main generator
4A-8102 auxiliary generator

To make it move again:
(6) D77 traction motor combos

If you are curious as to what the 6670 looks like now, here are 320 photos to look at!
