Stumbled onto this, which looks amazingly familiar in style if not quite in hardware:

I don't understand Russian, but from the appearance of a television interview and other footage of what are apparently railfans with cameras, it looks like this road is the object of a preservation effort.

And another logging outfit from Hungary, with link and pin couplers and disconnect log trucks; how does this type of operation have such spotless motive power?

Looks like more logging road action in Russia, on an apparently abandoned line. We Americans aren't the only ones with crazy rail enthusiasts:

More "Iron Curtain" railroading--narrow gauge in Poland, with diesels (Lxd2) that remind me very strongly of an EMD GP7 or GP9 as they might be interpreted for a park train:

Check out how they handle the transload problem between standard and narrow gauge:

Something seen too often--scrap train:

Polish narrow-gauge counterpart to our RDC:

Industrial clay hauler with critters:

And a peat hauler with some of the worst track you ever saw, and hand-sanding of the rails, too:

At 5:40, notice the speeder? And another soon after. Appear to be actual MoW crews... NARCOA guys don't dress that well.

Going through more of these Eastern European clips, and here is one that stands out for its depiction of trackwork on what is apparently a preserved narrow gauge line. What stood out most was the use of highway equipment, including a paving machine or spreader, for ballast work. This little road uses concrete ties, too.

Steam operations, but I don't know Hungarian, so I can't tell which railroad this was on, or even if it is the same one depicted above. At the same time, the motions and actions of machines and men are very familiar; David P. Morgan once wrote that Walschearts was the same in any language.

The whole channel from which these two clips are from.
