Baltimore & Ohio used to run through Mars, PA--I have a photo of a B&O caboose set up as an historic display and the Mars railroad station. Up until 1953, one could board a train there, and travel to Jupiter (Florida, that is) I also have a photo of a "flying saucer" built by a local metal fabricator, and another showing my wife next to the "Welcome to Mars" sign. To add to the celestial nature of this story, we drove there in a Dodge Aries. |
