When I rode one of the San Joaquins last week, it appeared that the train started on the ex-SP in Oakland. Later, it went by the BNSF Riverbank terminal, and so it appears that it ended up on ex-AT&SF in Bakersfield. Where did the change-over occur - was it Port Chicago or somewhere else? Thanks for your help. |

The connection is in Port Chicago, just west of the intersection of Main Street and Waterfront Road. http://maps.google.com/?ll=38.046418,-122.025039&spn=0.010071,0.016007&t=h&z=16 The UP is next to Waterfront Road, and the BNSF turns to the southwest after the connection. |
