Post subject:  Route of San Joaquin?

When I rode one of the San Joaquins last week, it appeared that the train started on the ex-SP in Oakland. Later, it went by the BNSF Riverbank terminal, and so it appears that it ended up on ex-AT&SF in Bakersfield.

Where did the change-over occur - was it Port Chicago or somewhere else?

Thanks for your help.

The connection is in Port Chicago, just west of the intersection of Main Street and Waterfront Road.

The UP is next to Waterfront Road, and the BNSF turns to the southwest after the connection.
