Spectacular run from Alycidon late last night on the return leg of the Elizabethan rail tour.

90mph+ run from a 50 year old loco.

As one of the "co-owners" of that loco (a Life Member, 30+ years with them), you're welcome. >;-)

I am told that the 5 hours 46 minute time from Edinburgh to Kings Cross (which netted down to 5 hours 33 mins if one eliminates the 9 minute delay at Drem/Dunbar due to the 17.30 East Coast service passing and a 4 minute waiting time stop at York) is pretty comparable with Deltic timings on the ECML in their prime in 1974. Were that we allowed such performances with heritage diesels here in the States.....
