Video footage of an excursion in South America, from what looks like a partially preserved enginehouse (complete with coaling tower, although not functional), and a light 4-8-2 that looks very American, if a bit on the light side, complete with right hand drive, what looks like a Chambers front-end throttle, and a bell. Overall appearance of the locomotive is very reminiscent of something from the FEC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPmSxETu3mg Too bad the railroad it runs on shows some signs of neglect, making me wonder how healthy the Chilean system is. |

Museum is in Temuco. Gates weren't there in the 1990s. Need them now to keep the scrap thieves out. Lots of nice locos there & some pretty impressive bridges on the line. |
