Post subject:  Pullman sleepers and Science Fiction

Hi,

I was rewatching the first episode "Serenity" of the very short lived TV showFirefly (14 episodes in all and only 11 were aired).

The scene is in the captain's cabin on a cargo space ship that has minimal space.

He is shown finishing using the toilet which foldes up into the wall and a sink just above it folds down.

The toilet is a trangular shape from the side. Starting from the hinge it goes up along the wall then out into the room about the same distance. The hinge and the point in the room is the hypotenuse of a right triangle. Just above the storage position of the toliet is a fold down sink basin with a faucet.

I rode the Southern Crescent and the Amtrak Crescent limited with the original private cars baught into Amtrak. I believe the sink was directly taken from some of the slumber coaches and suspect (I think I remember) the triangular toilet in some passenger equipment as well.

I have not been able to find the right search words to see if I recall correctly. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.
