Post subject:  Double Header Down South

Took in Today's Summerville Trip with 630 and 4501. Beautiful Day spent with two pretty ladies...

A fine run south. The return trip got changed by an unfortunate warehouse fire in Lafayette, GA. The building was right next to the right of way in downtown Lafayette. The Fire Department blocked off everything around the building including the RR which was only "feet" from the building. As a result the train was stopped south of town to wait it out. A scramble was made to locate charter busses for the riders due to the uncertainty of how long it would take to get the fire under control...

I had to head out before things settled out. I can say that the passengers were in very good hands as TVRM is an exceptionally well run and professional organization - I could tell they were doing everything they could in this very unusual circumstance.
