This short snippet of a documentary describes a formerly British-owned railway in Brazil,
the meter-gauge "Leopoldina system". The line shown in the film is a rack-type, featuring
a 14% grade to the station of PetrĂ³polis. British-made 0-4-0 tank engines were used.
This was all still operating in the early 1960's when the film was shot. The narrator says
that by 1968, the rack lines were closed and all steam was gone from the system. The
film is only 2 minutes long, so have a peek if you have a taste for international steam and
unusual railways:

Bonus: It appears one of the locomotives has been preserved!
