Post subject:  Need help identifying UP diesel locomotive in old photograph

Hey all, I've recently acquired possession of a photograph taken in Daggett, California, of a Union Pacific diesel locomotive coupled up to a tankcar, possibly a part of a freight train, and I am currently trying to identify the model and class of the engine, and its number if possible, to add to the caption of this photograph when I catalog it for my archives.

(There is a tag on the bottom right hand side of the photograph that says, Jul-84, which could mean July 1984 when this photo was taken, but the diesel looks to be 40's - 50's era, I'm no expert on diesel designs circa WWII era...)

If there are any diesel locomotive experts on this forum, or anyone that might know of any, that are familiar with the models the UPRR built that ran on the ex-LA&SL segment through Daggett and Yermo and may know anything that could help me identify this locomotive, if it's a regular diesel-electric locomotive or even one of the rare steam turbine locomotives, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

I'm pretty certain it is a 1st generation Gas Turbine-Electric. These were numbered 51-60. There were variations between these. The tank car does not look like the usual fuel tender. #57 operated from May '53 to Jan '54 with a pressurized propane tank car as a tender. I think that is your locomotive. It is likely that the photo was taken during this time period, but was processed and printed later in July. The date is certainly not '84.

This looks like confirmation of Mr. Ruiz's commentary; unfortunately, the size is what comes from the source site, but the photos do show the propane tender:
