That's what the news people are calling the materials handling system at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. https://www.nypl.org/press/press-releas ... t-conveyor The term "book train" is certainly understandable, if a bit humorous; switching is apparently by means of transfer tables, including some that are vertical: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw1-M8BS4BM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSYHqDrGjg8 It certainly is an interesting system, even if it did cost $2.6 million. |

Let's hope it works better than the Denver Luggage Handling system. I can't figure out why they were never able to make that one work, but from what I understand they've completely given up on it, and possibly even removed it? |
