Over the years, I've seen a photograph reproduced several times of two Funits in a running meet right at a railroad crossing. The photo is in black and white, and the trains are heavily blurred. I remember reading there was commentary that people thought the photographer faked the whole thing, due to the incredible Coincidence of catching both of them at exact same spot. While several other train Buffs around me have seen the photo and know which one I'm talking about, if you have never seen it. I've spent a lot of time looking for it online, and can't find it. Does anybody know which photo I'm talking about, and if so, do they know where I might find it online to show people?

I think the photo you are speaking of is one that appears in "The Hiawatha Story," by Jim Scribbins. The photo depicts, if my memory is right, actually a pair of E-units on passenger trains on the Milwaukee Road. That could explain how easy it would be to capture this shot, as passenger trains, particularly on a good passenger operating line such as the Milwaukee was, would appear at places much more consistently than anything else.

That might be it. I seemed to recall it was a Midwest shot but couldn't recall anything further other than what the image itself looked like.
I did a search from the photographer's name and found nothing to match it. though...
