Hi,

There is a section of CMSP&P grade that is called (IIRC) The John Wayne Trail.

I lost many items in my last move (c2012) and thought there was an article in Trains Magazine that there was a section hand or station agent on the Milwaukee Road that doubled for John Wayne in some of his movies.

I was just listening to the comments about the 1962 Cinerama movie "How the West Was Won" (with Wayne). In it it was said and I tried to double check that Chuck Roberson was Wayne's double. I assume there were other body doubles but can not confirm the Trains article that there was someone on the Milwaukee Road that doubled for Wayne.

Does anyone know why an ex-Montana section of the CMSP&P is named for The Duke?

Did I just get something confused?

Thanks for any help.

If you trust Wikipedia

Quote:
The trail is named in honor of the John Wayne Pioneer Wagons and Riders Association for their assistance in creating the trail.
