A local (Cecil County, MD) historical Facebook page is looking for information on a special cursion held on Aug 15, 1964 which ran between Philadelphia & Baltimore on the B&O. The copy of the photo from the local paper at that time is pretty fuzzy. I can't tell the number on the engine. Anyway, if anyone has any information, could you either post on their Facebook page directly or post it here and I will relay the information to them.

Lead engine looks to almost certainly be a Reading T1. I cannot discern the number on it, however. |

I didn't Google long enough. I found the answer. It was a B&O Iron Horse Days excursion using Reading T1 2100. Here's a link I found. http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/r ... 10,1769463 |

I see you got your answer. Yes, this was a special weekend trip on the B&O to celebrate B&O Iron Horse Days. I had the extreme pleasure of riding from Philadelphia to Baltimore on Saturday, August 15, 1964 and returning on Sunday, August 16, 1964. I also rode one of the regular passenger runs between Baltimore and Washington. I think they ran three round trips each day. I got to explore Washington Union Station and the Smithsonian along with seeing SR 1401. I stayed overnight in the Hotel Baltimore across from Camden Station. All this at the tender age of 18. I rode a number of the a reading Iron Horse Rambles, but this was the the crown jewel. Don Fenstermacher |
