Any idea of the track they had to traverse to get that military equipment close enough into downtown DC to allow them to be in the parade on the 4th?

The one picture I saw showed the tail end of three DODX flats backed along a spur surrounded by trees and brush on one side...

Just curious if it was some little used spur that still existed that got right down town, or if it was not even close and they trucked them after they got them off the flats?

All the numerous media reports I saw said the equipment in question was trucked from CSX's former PRR Benning Yard, in the Benning neighborhood of extreme eastern Washington DC, northeast of the Anacostia River Bridge for the PRR freight bypass around Union Station, and about two miles east of the US Capitol on the other side of the Anacostia River. The yard, only a couple tracks wide, is sandwiched between Minnesota Avenue and Interstate 295/Kenilworth Avenue/Anacostia Freeway/whatever you wanna call it.

More on the yard:

They were spotted on a rarely (these days) team track at Benning where cranes were used to lift the vehicles onto low boys that transported them to the location on the mall.
