I understand they got a contract with Avoca Records for that.

I want to hear Debbie sing "Magic Steamtown Ride" like they promised.

The Office blatantly ripped off the Scrantones...

Unfortunately, Jay Daniels died seven years ago.

"Debbie does Steamtown" was a feature at the Stroke Hill

(That was a parody of the real-life sleaze pit, the Oak Hill)

When I was in college, I was fortunate to have a side job working at WSNG in northwestern CT and I worked with Jeff Longaven (better known later as Jay Daniels) for two years, when he was the morning DJ there. Jeff had an amazing sense of humor and was an incredibly creative person. When he was on the air, he was in his element. Decades later, when I heard about his roughly 30-year run as Jay Daniels and got a chance to listen to some of his stuff, I was not surprised. The man found his niche. Although his on-air, side-kick John Gasper (aka John Webster) did much of the talking on air, Jeff....Jay was the guy who dreamed up a lot of the routines. It was the same high school teacher who got both Jeff and myself involved with WSNG who informed me of Jeff's health issues and eventual passing. He left us way too soon, but he made a lot of people laugh for 30 years.

Rest in peace, Jeff Longaven.

Earlier in my life, a coworker won a Rock 107 contest and the prize was a box at a Red Barons game complete with all the amenities. Daniels and Webster were the hosts. I only laughed so hard one other time. My cheeks hurt the next morning.

The link only gives a small snippet of their hilarity.
