This group has really done a lot with a rather limited mission. In addition to their operable Birney car, they are in the final stages of restoring an early 20th century Hot Springs car, and they acquired one of the Vera Cruz open cars from the Trolleyville collection. I also think they have at least one more Ft. Smith Briney body restoration in the works. Long-term plans even include replicating the Cincinnati truck for this Cincinnati Car Co. body.

I passed through Ft Smith in January, drove by the car barn and was impressed... The Birney was out and about... the Hot Springs car in the barn, nearly done, very well done. The Vera Cruz car was under a tarp outside, having arrived recently... there was evidence of lots of activity... They had railroad (aka, not trolleys) about, all looking like someone was caring for them.

They have a short ride, connecting the main street in a preserved downtown with the local history museum and their barn.

They are a very good example of a small local museum, and what can be accomplished.
