My colleague Mr. Patterson has posted our description of "Breslin Tower". RMNE has 6 Pullman heavyweights in total, although BT is the only sleeping car. Randy's namesake "Mount Royal" was originally a 10-section observation-lounge, but KCS removed the sections in favor of coach seating when they obtained the car in 1948.

The other RMNE Pullmans are parlor cars; only one ("Westport") was ever gutted for work train service. Two ("Philinda" and "Forest Hills") were converted by NYNH&H to coaches in 1949, and still retain their plush coach seats.

The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum has the Emerald Waters, an 8 section 4 double bedroom Pullman. The car is owned by the Collis P. Huntington Chapter of the NRHS. Painted in a fading Pullman green (instead of a more appropriate B&O scheme), the car needs some work.

The Kentucky Railway Mueseum has 10-Section Solarium "Mt. Broderick" in its collection. For years the car was panted traction orange and stored at Louisville Union Station for excursions. Later the car was painted incorrectly in L&N passenger car blue for excursion service behind L&N 152.

In 1991 when KRM moved out of Louisville to New Haven, Kentucky, the car was heavily vandalized by local youth. As recently as 10 or so years ago, the car was cleaned up, recieved a coat of Pullman Green exterior paint, and some interior work performed. The dual sash wood windows were replaced during this work with in correct alumnium frame windows. I don't think much else has been done to the car since.

We have two heavyweight sleepers in Spencer. The first is the 12-1 "McChesney". It was built in 1926, Lot No. 4845, Plan 3410. It was purchased by the Southern in 1948 and became their #2480. The second is the 6-3 "Schubert", built in 1924.

We also have two Southern baggage cars, Southern #6454 and #6262, that were built by Pullman as sleepers. They were rebuilt in the 1950's by the Southern into baggage cars.

The heavyweight, 12 section 1 drawing room Pullman sleeper at the Museum of Transportation near St. Louis is named "St. Carvan," and it was built in 1925. It was donated by the Pullman Company in 1961.

TVRM's collection includes two:

The well traveled Clover Colony, 8-section, 5-compartments currently in service and available for use on most all day excursions and occasionally on the local train when needed in a pinch.

12-1 sleeper Maitland currently stored offsite in fair condition for a car that came out of service and has been in storage since. In severe need of stabilization/restoration work before she gets too far gone. Others have come and gone - Alabama College (scrapped) and Mountain Road (used in 8 Men Out, as I recall, after leaving for Railway Expo and I believe possibly since sold to another owner). There were 1 or 2 others.

There is one or two in Birmingham (HOD), Glen Ayr was in Jacksonville (sold recently to AC&W in North Carolina), Thomas Ruffin, Washington Club, and Superb at SERM, and a couple hanging around Gold Coast. Others around, but those come to mind off hand.

At the Southern Michigan Railroad Society we have the "Emerald Vale". It was originally named the "Wetamoo" sleeper, its a 70 ton, 80 foot long sleeper car that was built in 1915 by the Pullman Company. The Emerald Vale was purchased from the State of Michigan after the Ann Arbor Railroad declared bankruptcy in 1985. Now we have it. Hopefully It'll get restored sometime.

PSRM, Campo, CA has the COMMANDANT, a 1915 sleeper/lounge/observation car. It has not been restored, but is in not too bad condition. For details, see the passenger car section of the Roster at http://www.psrm.org.

C'mon Kurt, have you forgotten George had Traffic Club? FWIW it's in the yard in Thorpe, for sale by the R&N.. End door is open.

I was in it when George was still alive. The upper berths are intact, and the seat-backs are still in the section walls. Otherwise it pretty well lost its' ambience during years of MOW service. Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm not aware of it's arrangement numbering..

The Museum of the American Railroad of Dallas, Texas, and in the future of Frisco, Texas, has several heavyweight Pullman cars.

These are:
Glengyle a 7compt-2DRm car built in 1910 and the oldest surviving steel Pullman sleeping car. It has been designated an engineering landmark by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Glen Nevis a 6Cmpt-3Drm car built in 1925 and later modified inside by the FreightMaster division of Halliburton. It was rebuilt into a research car used to develop cushioned underframes for railroad cars.
McQuaig a 12-1 from 1925
Goliad a 12-1 from 1926

And at track level at the Durham Museum in the former Omaha depot there is CORNHUSKER CLUB which operated as Pullman 10Sec-Lounge MT. DOANE.

Also don't forget about DOVER HARBOR. The 6DBR-buffet-lounge car is owned and operated by the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the NRHS. It is equipped to run on Amtrak and Amtrak's NE Corridor.

from the Dover Harbor website we have these existing "sister" cars:
DOVER BAY is at Circus World Museum.
DOVER CLIFFS is owned by a private industrial firm and used as a conference center.
DOVER FORT on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway in 2006.
DOVER PATROL at Railtown 1897 (California State Park) at Jamestown, California.
DOVER PLAINS
DOVER STRAIT at IRM

Pullman 12-1 "Beaver" later converted to camp car service by the PRR, now owned by the Hollidaysburg & Roaring Spring Railroad and stored at the Everett Railroad shop, Claysburg, PA. Roof stablization was performed several years ago but at the moment this car is at the bottom of the list of priorities. Some extra berths are on hand from a now scrapped sister car.
