Josh,

Actually, there is a FJ&G/Bamberger car that is a lot closer to operation than the body you show.

For several years now, the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, CA has been working on 127. John Smatlak, occasional RYPNer is the project manager.

The work to date, has been extensive, incluidng building a set of correct Brill trucks for the car using components from other Brill trucks, paint and body work and other items.

The car is inside now, and I believe the next goal was to work on the roof of the car.

Restoration costs recovered through fares?

They're either grossly under-estimating the costs, over estimating the revenues, or planning on a rather long "period of time".

I also wish them the best, and hope they can work it out, but given the limited capacity it seems like revenues would be fairly small. Hopefully they'll also consider pursuing grants or other sources of funding.
