I thought this might deserve a new, clean topic as it looks like the next scrap drive might be in Pemberton. Not sure what a "receiver" is as covered in the below article, but I don't see good news here.

While the Trust continues to play this out in the courts, it might be worth folks in the preservation community to make contact with the mayor's office and make sure he knows the equipment should not be cut up. The link to the township with contact information is http://www.pemberton-twp.com/home

It might be worth being ready to jump in just in case things need to be moved fast.

A rough roster is as follows:

GE 45 tonner, Roebling,

GE 100 tonner, Roebling

1959 CR&IP 40' boxcar

Tidewater tank car

Gondola, came from Roebling.

LV Hopper car, came from Roebling.

Flat car, came from Roebling

PRR N5C caboose

PRR N6b caboose

PRR NX23 caboose

CNJ wood caboose

Rail bus, 1930s?

How sad. Just another example of owning and controlling your own property is the most important thing an organization can do.

J.R. -

Thanks for posting the equipment list. Would be nice if someone could post a recent photo of each piece.

The below link has some shots the town provided almost two years ago when they were looking at auctioning off the equipment.

If you use the search function on RyPN you should come up with more.

Another article out on this drama:

If you are looking to adopt any of this equipment, now may be the time, though it is not clear who to contact.
