Found a photo of a USATC Whitcomb diesel on the internet at a place called Lake Wales, Florida at what is called the Lake Wales Depot Museum and Cultural Center. Along with the Whitcomb are displayed a SAL wood cupola caboose and what is described as a 1916 Pullman car. I have been unable to find any info on the Pullman. Anybody know the cars history?

Thanks.

Les

This news article about vandalism to the Pullman gives a little more detail on the car...

Hope this helps a little...a quick search on line pulled up the above, I'm sure there is more...

A few exterior views of the car in Lake Wales Florida taken in September 2013. If anyone would like to see additional views of the interior and exterior, just let me know..

Thanks, Dean, for posting the photos!

I'm thinking the date of "1916" is a little late for this car. It clearly is wood-framed with steel sheathing, so can anyone give a ballpark on the build date?

Shame about the vandalism, the car looks like it has a lot of potential. Regards, John.

Donated to the City in 1980s for use by the museum but too costly to restore and maintain.

Two questions posted, one about the caboose (which isn't for sale) the other this:

Q: Can they be disassembled on site to remove for scrap (1/8/16 3:05 PM)
A: The new owner can do that.. yes (1/8/16 3:06 PM)

It actually is unfortunate that they are selling them together, I could see someone wanting either to restore or perhaps the Whitcomb for a display (someone from Rochelle where they were built was asking about the scrap value for such a purpose here just last week) but they are so different I would guess only a scrapper would want both. The reserve hasn't been met, maybe they will rethink it if they don't sell.
