Someone please refresh my failing memory....

Is this part of the line that ran into a stone wall
of local opposition to operation years ago?

What happened to the Shank brothers who last I heard own this line and the rights to the D&RGW name? I had a tour of the line with Don Shank not long ago. Am I confusing this line with another somehow? This was out of South Fork, so it seemed to be the same line as the one I rode.... Peter Bowler

What happened?
Looks like the Creed-ians have succeeded in draining the railroads bank account....
They are probably broke and unable to move ahead with their plan to open an operation at this time....Given some time, I'm sure they'll get back on track. I doubt they need to go into creede to make it a successful operation, perhaps North fork will be a better choice.
From what I've seen of Creede, they hate anyone that is an outsider, or perhaps, that they don't control......I recall hearing something about them not wanting any "bubblegum chewing, *.**,etc,etc....tourists in their town!!". Somehow, it would not surprise me to find that the major "industry" up there involves the production of something called "meth"....
As to those two "characters".....I'm wondering what they are up to....trying to get another free railroad perhaps? I think the track space in question is on the Del Norte side of South Fork.... nothing out there, no customers, just farms.....unless you want to store cars.
