You are quite welcome RR and thank you for posting the original roster. Is there a one-stop-shop link with this info?

Daniel--

No, not that I'm aware of. The roster I posted is compiled from several different sources.

Even the roster published in the June 2013 issue of Trains magazine was incomplete when it was published since there are quite a few cars that had been acquired but not in any sort of shape to be used... at least not yet.

And Iowa Pacific continues to add cars to its fleet.

I believe that the Texas State Railroad cars remain the property of the State of Texas.

Rebuilt by AOE to 3DB as crew lounge-dormitory Monterey. Acquired from Greenbrier Express as SLRG #3312 Adirondack Club (#800246). Assigned to Pullman Rail Journeys (IC paint).

There appears to be a conflict with this car history, as the Wolverine Club is currently listed for sale on Sterling Rail:

http://www.sterlingrail.com/classifieds/classified.php?id=4168

That being the case, is the #3312 one of the other Plan #4165 cars?

Can anyone clarify? Thanks in advance.

Definitely curious...

Two of the C&O observation cars are known to have survived long enough to receive the Amtrak 800-series numbers, C&O 2505 WOLVERINE CLUB which is now Iowa Pacific's ADIRONDACK CLUB (800246) and C&O 2505 OHIO STATE CLUB, which carries (or at least carried) the number 800484.

One thing I do not understand is what is the rectangular protrusion from the roof towards the vestibule because the car used by AOE that is known to be the WOLVERINE car did not have such when in service.

Let me do some checking with IP to see if they might be able to clarify which car it is that they now have.

Okay, I think I can clarify the history of the Iowa Pacific car.

The SLRG car carries the AMTK 800-series number 800224, not 800246 as I had previously stated, which would make this car C&O 2500 BLUE RIDGE CLUB, one of three observation cars that were retained by the C&O and rebuilt to dorm - diner - lounge observation cars in 1961 to 1962 (with two double bedrooms becoming the kitchen) and renumbered 1923, 1925 and 1924 (ex-2500 BLUE RIDGE CLUB, 2503 ALLEGHENY CLUB and 2506 BLUE RIDGE CLUB). All three cars went to AMTK as 8200, 8202 and 8201. 2500 was renamed BLUE RIDGE CLUB when retired by AMTK and was subsequently named CASCADE RIDGE, renamed GREENBRIER CLUB while in private ownership.

Thanks, Jerry, for the clarification on SLRG #3312 Adirondack Club!

Looking at Stan Garner's #800xxx-series listings, looks like the #2500/#1923/#8200 Blue Ridge Club was initially #800024, and then was BWRL #2500 with the name Cascade Ridge, then #800224 Greenbrier Club.

Looking at my notes, the car was then renamed Goombay Sunrise; at that point I have the car noted as GBRX.

Checking Randall and Mike Palmieri's Amtrak roster, the #2500 was stored in 1978 and sold in 1981.

Cross-checking Stan's listings for other cars noted as BWRL, the only other car listed as such is MP business car #8 (rebuilt in 1951 from parlor #10613, Pullman, 1925, rebuilt again in 1974), later UP Houston (1st). According to Don Strack's roster pages, UP traded the car in 1990 to Les Kasten for E9A #949. Les Kasten later sold the car to private ownership (BWRL) #800517 Mount Holly Park. Current status unknown.

Does anybody know what BWRL is/was?

Regarding two other Plan #4165 cars that received #800xxx-series numbers:

C&O #2505 Ohio River Club/B&O #7503 Metcalf/Amtrak #3252 sold in 1977 to International Travel Guild (San Francisco), later private ownership #800484 The Henry Adams, then private ownership #800484 Ohio River Club. Current status unknown.

C&O #2506/#1924/Amtrak #8201 Bluegrass Club stored in 1978 and sold in 1981 to private ownership #800042 Cornelia. Current status unknown.

Actually this car became Dakota Minnesota & Eastern 2 PIONEER which just recently was relettered (but not repainted) Canadian Pacific 50...

Not sure when exactly the DME acquired the car but the earliest shot of it as DME was 1999.

BWRL - Black/Wong Railcar Leasing - Brad Black and the late Francis Wong had several cars in the late 1980's early 1990's. Francis passed away back in 2007, and was quite the character the several times I met him at past RPCA conferences.

800042 the Cornelia - Google earth shows the car on dead track at the south throat of Amtrak's Hialeah maintenance yard. Not sure what's going on with it.
