Well, that would certainly further solve the idiot question about where to run 5550: we can recreate the Greensburg locals Staufer referred to in Pennsy Power. Special prices for university students. We already have something of a precedent with Warrnambool. Clever thinking! thanks.

They left with new reporting marks; RRDX.

Not sure who RRDX but they are in Iowa and they own other passenger cars.

Iowa Interstate (Railroad Development Corp.) RRDX. Think QJ's.

I believe these cars are destined for Henry Posiner,s Railroad Development Corp's historic rolling stock collection. Henry, besides owning the 2 QJ's also have numerous historical locomotives and rolling stock around the world. Henry is a big PRR fan, being from Pittsburgh, and was a well known railfan in the North East area when he was in Princeton University, back in the mid 1970's. He once traded me a couple of B&W GG1 photo's for a caboose ride on the NH&I when he was a Princeton student in 1974. If Henry has them, they will be protected.

The current passenger cars used with the steamers on the Iowa Interstate are former Montreal commuter cars. They basically have school bus seats, no rest rooms, no lights or air, and the windows are all so bad that you can't see out of them. They also have those small pull down tops to give you about 6 inches of open window. Their windows also don't meet FRA glazing requirements and they have FRA waivers which restrict their speed and where they can go (can't leave their assigned railroad).

Almost any cars that could be worked on would be an improvement.

The Austin Steam Train Association in Cedar Park, TX has sold its venerable old and worn out Pennsylvania RR P-70FBR coach's. Monies from the sale will go to finishing their new concession car, getting their BRC C424 running, and continuing work on T&NO 786.

They departed McNeil, Texas this last weekend headed for Council Bluffs, Iowa.

How did ASTA come to acquire the Belt ALCO? Does the A&M still have any BRC ALCO's left?
