One of only two surviving steamers from the Minneapolis & St. Louis. One error in the report is that it ran much later than 1938 as it was sold by the "Louie" to a sugar company where it continued in service for a number of years.

I'm glad to see it back together again. I was there last week and it was still in pieces, the people I talked to didn't know what the plan for it was. I could tell it was from Annandale by its look and wheel arrangement.

Does anyone know what the plans are for this old girl?

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

Some additional info on the Consolidation:

Built by Baldwin in December of 1910 (s/n 35702) for the Iowa Central Railway as their #429. The Iowa Central was acquired by the M&StL early in 1912 and eventually the 2-8-0 was renumbered from 429 to 471 and given classification H6-38. In 1943, the 471 was sold to the C. H. Klein Brick Company (not a sugar company as I previously stated) in Chaska, Minnesota. In 1967 it was sold to Donald Lind who moved it to Annandale.

Depending on when you read this, I hope that everyone HAS, IS HAVING or HAD, a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I know that the placed it on a display track near the railroad, It wasn't fenced when I saw it a couple of years ago. As far as I was able to find out, display is all that is planned.
