Can anyone provide some information as to the history of this car? I understand it was built by Brill for the New York Central and remember it being featured in D & U brochures from the early '80's, but have been unable to find much further information. Only a few pictures turned up online but those that have show the car out of service and the roof covered with a tarp, and the car itself looking a little rough.

Thanks
John

I once owned this car and its trailer. Here is its history.

So what's the deal with the "Red Heifer" these days? If the thing is parked and tarped up I'd assume there's a reason...

I had spoken with some folks at DURR perhaps 10 years ago expressing interest in getting the car running again, either at DURR or CMRR. They said it was mechanically sound, but needed a new roof (which is wood and canvas, I thought it was steel). I'm told they parked it because their ridership outgrew the car. I'd love to get the car running again, somewhere...

That said, you should really talk to someone at DURR who has current information.
