Repower? please tell me with an ALCO engine still. I have a connection with that loco when it was still IHRC and spent 2 years in Tiffin, Oh. My first ALCO experience.

It was repowered with a non alco engine. The old 251 engine is in the CVSR shop. Apparently it never worked right.

It was repowered with a 1,500 hp MTU diesel engine.

It went in for the repower over 3 years ago.

Where is it now and how has that worked out ?

No one seems to want to talk about it.

This is the newest information that I was able to find; its from the Ohio Locomotive Works Facebook page on a post dated September 23, 2015. The comments are from 2016.
Andrew Woloszyn Saw this unit sitting at the Cuyahoga Valley scenic Railroad headquarters today looking good

Martha Joe Grzelak It's still sitting there. It keeps breaking down. Blew out two (2) traction motors and still hasn't gone inyo regular service yet.

Ohio Locomotive Works LLC Yeah, the traction motor re-builder hadn't spaced the hall effect sensor properly, thus confusing the traction control into thinking all but #2 were slipping. It has been spaced properly now and should be reinstalled and tested soon.

That unit had a hard life, Indiana Hi-rail ran it into the ground. It over wintered in about 1990 in Tiffin, drained but they didn't get all the water out and it suffered freeze damage. They replaced a couple of power assemblies in the field and never got it running right. They shipped it back to Evansville, IN for further repairs and then I lost track of it until it showed up on CVS.

The season it did run in Tiffin it ran well and the crew liked it compared with the GP35 they normally ran (371) I was a little too young to remember what sidelined 365 and why they went back to the 371.
