The anvil and linkage is now installed in the machine.

This is such an impressive project. As was posted, if this is the way this group tackles hurdles, I don't think that there is going to be many things that are going to stand in their way!

I wish some groups I'm affiliated with would take a close look at the business plans and strategies used here and learn a lot from the success that is following. They are among the best.... and deserve all the successes that are coming their way. I can only watch from a distance but there's a lot going on to see.

The hydraulics for the flanging machine have been plumbed. Die sets for bending no. 10's boiler sheets have been cast and delivered.

All the steel for 10's and 11's boilers has been purchased. The sheets have been cut out on a water jet table and rolled.

Compare the size difference between 10's and 11's firebox and wrapper. No. 10 is a 12 ton 0-4-4 and no. 11 will be a 27 ton 2-4-4. The no. 10 parts are in the back of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck vs the no. 11 parts sitting in front of the Mack Bros. building.

The flanger was tested for the first time last Tuesday. There are a couple of mechanical issues to address but the flanger successfully bent a piece of scrap boiler plate.

To get a feel for operating the flanging machine a replica of number 10's firebox corner was laid out and flanged out of a piece of scrap plate today. Tomorrow the crew plans to flange the real firebox sheet.

I never expected to see the #9 in steam after it sat in a Connecticut barn for close to 70 years! But she is!

I glad that the WW&F is coming along with all the projects they are planing , inclueing building new passenger coaches . The WW&F depends on the membership to help with the expends and donations in order to keep these projects moving .
I hope the WW&F don't bite off , more than they can crew, I would like to see them finish off projects , before starting a new one .

I think we have a pretty good track record on major restoration projects:

• Turntable - completed Fall 2016
• Locomotive #9 restoration - completed Dec 2015
• 60'x120' Car barn - completed Fall 2015
• Salvaged shingle mill for future use as an online industry - 2015
• Built replica section house - 2015
• Continuous extension of mainline track, yards, etc.

Short term:

• Convert Coach 8 to a combine for handicap access - On schedule for May 2017
• Ballast/tamp mainline north of current end of operational track - On schedule for May 2017
• Box car 67 restoration - Funded by the NGPF & "crowdsourcing"; substantially complete; to be done by spring 2017
• Add concrete floor to 2 bays of shop - Fundraising complete, on schedule for spring 2017
• Fill/add culvert at first washout north of current EOT - permitting and fundraising (ERHT grant received) complete; on schedule for 2017-2018
• Add Eames Automatic Vacuum Brakes to all equipment - NHRS grant received; design/testing underway.
• Return #10 to service (new boiler) - Funds raised (largely via "crowdsourcing"); assembly underway; on schedule for late 2017
• Build replica coach - Design/planning underway, Fundraising complete.

Longer term:

• Build boiler for reconstructed locomotive 11 - Fundraising underway. Give at https://fundrazr.com/21campaign
• 3-Stall Roundhouse
• Continued improvements to Sheepscot campus.
• Extension of mainline 1 mile to Route 218.
• Full restoration of W&Q/WW&F Coach #3.
• Build locomotive #11.

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, and these are just the major projects/accomplishments. We're proud of our track record. We tend not to undertake projects until funds are raised to the level that we are certain that we will have enough to complete the task. (Note that all the projects underway for 2016-2017 are fully funded.) Like everything else, sometimes projects take a bit more time (or money or both) than we anticipated. However, we ensure that we undertake only tasks that we are confident we will complete, and always strive to do it the right way, even if it takes a bit longer (or costs more) to do so.
