I'm sure you are right, and there is nothing wrong with said calculation. I find the point of view interesting though, restoring a tubed interior (not all of them, but many) would seem more daunting and open ended than brake and wheel work, but of course I am sure the Derby cars need interior work too. In addition, I'll bet the Class Is would be happier about moving the RBBB cars which were in service and run on Class Is to the end than cars that haven't moved in years, unless they are really confident in whomever preps them to move.

The Spokane Club/NP #393 was just seen westbound on CSX (former B&O Baltimore-Pittsburgh-Chicago mainline) at Deshler, OH, at 5:25 AM EDT (local time).

Ex-NP 393 "Spokane Club" round end observation car off the North Coast Limited arrived in Toppenish, WA on October 11. It is at the home of the new owner, the Northern Pacific Railway Museum located at the old Toppenish Northern Pacific depot. The car is remarkably complete with only a few minor modifications made to the interior. It has some rust damage from window leaks and full restoration will require rust repair, removal of added rooftop air conditioners, repaint inside and out as well as new rugs and re-upholstering of original furniture.

Over the past weekend a lot of interior flaking paint was removed and preliminary cleaning was done. Shore power was reestablished and multiple burned out light bulbs replaced. Significant restoration will have to await completion of several other projects and funding for this project.
