We are excited to announce that we have found accurate wooden trucks for C&S Pullman car 57. We have been searching and waiting for 8 years for the likes of these and now have a Go Fund me campaign to try to purchase and ship them to Cheyenne.

Congrats on finding these, it is always gratifying when otherwise inoperable components are united in an operable form. NWPRRHS rebuilt a set like these in roughly the same condition, I think they received grants from the NRHS that covered part of the work. But you have to buy them and get them to your site first:

I am sending a contribution check direct to the High Plains Railroad Preservation Association to help with the purchase of the trucks.

So this donation will not show up on the gofundme site.

If anyone else wishes to help by a direct contribution, a PM to Mike Pennell ("Car57") will bring you mailing instructions.

The work being done restoring the car is absolutely great! Wishing continued success.

Just curious, is there an advantage to sending a check to Mr. Pennell rather than use the GoFundMe site? I assume the site takes a slice of the contribution?

Hello

Yes a percentage is taken by Go Fund Me currently 5% so checks are better from that viewpoint.

Thanks

Mike is there any pictures just for grins. Always interesting to see what others are starting with. Think some "before" pictures might be doable? Best regards to your people and this project. Regards, John.
