$50K to outbid the scrapper? Would this be someone who was going to part it out?

Reviving this thread to ask, are there any updates on the 800 being moved to IRM? I haven't heard anything for over two months.

TP&W 800 is being ready for shipment but the time line still has not been determined. All the necessary paperwork is being prepared and the locomotive should be shipped sometime in 2018. Please continue support this project by donating! The major loan still must be paid off to the donor. Send your donation and mark it for the TP&W 800. Thanks for everyone's interest.

It's another great accomplishment for IRM's diesel department in the last year or so, along with restoration of the Rock Island geep, the beginning of work on the L&N FA, getting the Santa Fe FP45 running again, etc. The facebook post says it fills a hole in the roster, I think they mean a Century series unit, they have a TP&W RS11 on their roster.
