Looks great! Is the new jacket sealed where there are seams?

especially where 2700 sits, out of site from the museum, and undoubtedly unlit at night.

Last photo, I promise. Last Friday during an unveiling ceremony of the engine, Andy Wartman from the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corp, (Group restoring 2716 back to operation) presented the Museum with builders plates to use on the #2700.

In an industry that typically loves to eat their own, it was very refreshing to see one group step up and help another for the betterment. Thanks Andy and the rest of the group working on getting the 2716 back on the rails. We are here to support you guys as well.

Don't hesitate to post more photos of 2700. What you've done is nothing less than remarkable.

I was there for the unveiling as well. Here are a few detail shots of the work Jason did to replicate missing components.

When I visited a number of years ago, long before the ownership question was resolved, 2700 was up the siding a good distance from the rest of the train. Have they shoved everything back closer to the station now? It sort of looks like it, but can't tell from the photos that have been posted.

Just remarkable work and, IMHO, for a good price as well.

The current Google street view suggests they have done some work on the Williamsport business car. Any recent photos of it and the rest of the cars?

Bob

the 2700 should defiantly be closer to the museum..it is a good distance from it last time I was there. Jason and his crew did a great job.

The 2700 is coupled to the train of heavyweights and has the appearance of a passenger train waiting at the Dennison station. It presents a striking appearance for anyone entering town along the road that parallels the CUOH mainline.

Anyone know where they got the Federal money from to do the work? We're trying to
find some to cosmetically restore Hampton streetcar 390 down in Hampton, Va. (and not to far from 2700 sister 2756)
