There is Only 24 hours left to save these two historic railcars.

NH 5111: built in 1954 by Pullman Standard in Worcester MA. LAST surviving New Haven Club Car and one of three Washboards still in existence.

SPV 1001: built in 1980? By the Budd company for the Connecticut Department of Transportation. This is the only Conferences/business SPV car. It is the only SPV car to transport Governor John Rowland.

These cars are moving to a new home at the Danbury Railroad Museum. Both cars will be moving to Danbury on there own wheels.

I encourage everyone to donate a few dollars so these historic railcars will have a future!

Orion, the 1001 has been sitting on Track 6 in New Haven Station for several days now. I see that it's still sitting there this morning. Is it not waiting to be picked up by P&W?

Yes it is waiting for P&W pickup. 1001 MUST be off track 6 by Tuesday night otherwise it could end up back in the yard and not move at all. I am working closely with P&W. It a matter of logistics and funding.

The interior is in fair condition. Fully gutted exept for the bathrooms, smoking dividers, and porter area. A lot of work has to de done inside because of peeling paint and floor tiles coming up.

VIdeo of the cars on the move. SAndwgiched between two PW locos. I’m more surprised MN didn’t make the move seeing it’s all home territory but anyway:
